Corona advisory

Corona advisory updated amidst all the chaos (practical problems addressed)
If you start having fever, sore throat or even mild shortness of breath:
1. Do not take this lightly. If you can afford , visit COVID allowed private hospitals BL Kapoor, Max Saket , Apollo, Fortis Shalimar Bagh or Sir Ganga Ram hospital emergency.
If you can't, visit NON COVID EXCLUSIVE govt hospital like GTB, AIIMS, Safdarjung or RML hospital. These are the only places where you won't be tossed between corona and non corona.
2. Alternatively, you can visit nearby clinic, get your oxygen level checked , get a prescription for COVID testing and call up private labs for sample collection at home. Do Not Order COVID test yourself. Private labs aren't allowed to conduct test without a prescription.
What to do, if your COVID comes positive from private lab:

  • Visit RML hospital emergency which is the nodal centre for Central govt hospital or LNJP hospital which is COVID dedicated hospital of Delhi govt.

If you can afford in tunes of 5 lakhs, can also go to above mentioned private hospitals.
DO NOT go to any other hospital like Safdarjung or AIIMS directly.
What to do, if you are admitted in some smaller hospital and report there comes positive:
If patient is not on ventilator or oxygen support, go to RML /LNJP only or above mentioned private hospital as per affordability.
If patient is on ventilator or oxygen support:
Chances of finding a ventilator bed is much much higher in govt hospital like LNJP , RML and AIIMS rather than any of these private hospitals. So, arrange an ambulance either provided by smaller hospital or calling up Central helpline number. Try to shift the patient to any of these facilities.
Timing of getting tested:
If symptoms are present: ASAP. Do not wait.
For no symptoms but family member or close contact of COVID positive patient: 5 days after last contact.
First test is negative in many many cases. If symptoms do not resolve, get yourself tested again.
